The Best Baked Beans... EVER!

Gratitude for this delicious meal will start with Chelsa Squires, who introduced me to this fantastic recipe. Apparently she has Shakey Puddin to thank, or maybe Maxine who contributed the recipe to the Food Network site? We'll just thank all the peeps!! You can find the original recipe here. Make them and you'll be thanking everyone too!

Ingredient list:
2- 28oz cans pork & beans
1- 14oz can butter beans (aka. lima beans)
1- 14oz can pinto beans
1- 14oz can great northern or kidney beans
3 C chopped onion (I didn't measure, I just cut up 2 med-large onions)
8-10 strips bacon
1/2 C brown sugar (preferably dark)
1/2 C hickory flavored bbq sauce (or your favorite)
1/4 C catsup
2 Tb dry mustard
1 Tb black pepper (please adjust to your spiciness level, I usually reduce to 1-2 tsp.)

Preheat your oven to 350.

Cut the bacon into pieces and brown in a skillet. Then throw the bacon in your 9x13 pan.
Reserve the bacon fat in the pan.
Cook up your onions right in all that yummy bacon fat!

Then add in just the baked beans and all the other ingredients. I only want to wash one dish,
so I mix it all up in the pan. You could mix it up in a bowl if that is easier.
Stir it all up well, then add the rest of the beans and gently stir them in.
Bake it all for an hour, till bubbling and looking thicker. Sadly I don't have a picture of the finished product! I'll have to add that next time I make them.
Eat them all up! So good as reheated left overs too, if they last!
